Wallpapering:

Since the mid 1980's Romanelli Wallcovering has installed tens of thousands of square feet of wallpaper.


We can install pre-pasted papers, untrimmed designer papers, grass cloth, textiles, wallpaper murals and commercial vinyl.

Particular attention to detail is given to the seams or joints between the wallpaper pieces and that the wall preparation is done correctly. Most 54" (the width per sheet) commercial vinyl can appear "seamless" if done correctly.

We can remove old wallpaper wash, patch, prime and paint.

"Level five" skim coating/ plastering over textured walls (your textured walls will be plastered smooth) and drywall repair, and plaster and lath repair done correctly using metal lath over the studs and quick setting fine powdered cement based plasters.

Venetian Plaster:

Real lime and high marble content based putty plasters from Italy. Applied in several layers and polished for a beautiful crystalline appearance.

Traditional "Marmorino" Venetian plaster: translucent plasters that can be polished or left flat. We also have an exterior/ interior Marmorino for walls, ceilings and columns that can be polished to a high gloss.

Marmorino products are very strong and the lime inhibits mold and mildew.

Venetian plaster can be matched to any paint color.

Colors can be combined in layers for stunning effects. Colors and appearance of depth change in sunlight.

Venetian plaster can be used in kitchens and baths and can be sealed in various ways for added protection.

Lime Wash:

Fine powdered limestone, marble dust, earth colorants and water applied with a large brush. Similar to faux painted "color wash" but real plaster. Beautiful patinas that can be flatter than wall paint or polished to a satin gloss.

Interior lime wash for walls and ceilings or exterior for brick, concrete and stucco.

Appearance is opaque with subtle mottling that will last for decades. Lime wash is a true "green" product allowing porous walls of brick, concrete and stucco to breath.



Faux Finishes:

Traditional painted decoration such as marble, wood and verdigris patinas.

"Color washing" (semi-translucent paint) effects are great for smooth or textured walls.

The photo to left is a color washed living room - a cream base with an umber stain "glaze".

Many pearlescent, metallic (blue pearl, antique silver, brass and gold) and sprayed multicolored textural finishes (each texture on the wall or ceiling has it's own color).

What is in the portfolio?:
The paint and plaster described above are displayed on large sample (example) boards in portfolios that we bring to a meeting for your examination.

These are the best selections from actual jobs. Most are two feet wide by two feet high. At that size it is easy to see the colors, design, texture and pattern.

Venetian plaster boards are 2' by 2', painted boards are 18" by 18" and 8" by 12".

Boards are real paint and plaster from previous jobs - not photographs.

Job samples of decorative painting, plaster and lime wash examples are made for each decorative painting job.

The estimate and proposal includes up to six samples per room.

Painting:
We can paint doors, shutters, furniture, rooms and entire houses. We can move your furniture and replace it after painting. Complete preparation including fixing large holes in gypsum board or plaster and lath, skim coating (plastering) over rough texture to make it smooth, removal of wallpaper and washing walls and power washing exterior walls and floors.

We use low VOC (low Volatile Organic Compounds - less or no odor) at no extra charge: Benjamin Moore Eco-Spec and Sherwin William's Pro-Green. For exterior walls / siding Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams have superior water based products. For exterior entry doors we prefer Fine Paints of Europe gloss, Benjamin Moore Iron-Clad Low Lustre and Impervo High Gloss all oil based. For exterior metal (garages, railings) we prefer Benjamin Moore Super Spec low lustre or gloss oil based.

Wood Touch up and Repair:
If you have scratches, dings, dents, chips in new or old doors, molding, base board and cabinets they can be reconditioned.

Stucco and Concrete Repair:
If you have new doors, windows or electrical boxes recently installed we can patch the gaps to satisfy the building code (two layers of building paper under old paper, wire lath nailed stud to stud, scratch and finish coats stucco to match existing). Patches are done correctly with rapid setting cement/ stucco. Patches can be painted or walked on within hours - and the cement/ stucco used has great strength. If you have painted stucco it can be repaired to blend with the rest of the wall in the correct texture/ color. Cracks or large patches in stucco over brick, patios, pavement, missing or cracked bricks on your stairs - we can patch or replace brick, concrete and stucco.

Proposals include:

A lump sum price - a price that includes everything involved to complete the work.
Complete description of all labor and materials - materials are always included.
A payment schedule.
Start and finish dates.
A list of references.
Reference list: real people - real jobs - names, dates and addresses and descriptions of each project.

The price we quote you by fax or e-mail will be the price.
We will not charge you for any extras.
It is to your advantage to realize that this is all it will cost.

Insurance:
Romanelli Wallcovering is insured by "The Hartford" .

Requested proof of general liability insurance and workers compensation insurance will be e-mailed, faxed or postal mailed to you and if requested your building's management office by The Hartford.
